Is 21% VAT applicable to all silver coins?
No. New silver coins (2025 and later) are subject to 21% VAT. Pre-owned silver coins are subject to the margin scheme.
What does the margin scheme entail?
With the margin scheme, you only pay VAT on the trader's profit margin. In practice, this results in a lower effective VAT amount than with bars.
Are pre-owned coins just as tradable as new ones?
Yes. They have the same silver content (usually 99.9% or 99.99%) and the same recognizability. Pre-owned is primarily a price advantage; the quality and repurchaseability remain the same.
What is the difference in spread between coins and bars?
Coins generally have a lower spread due to their high liquidity. Bars often have a higher threshold due to 21% VAT and larger denominations.
How are silver coins delivered?
Most common delivery options: tubes of 20 or 25 pieces (depending on the series) and sample boxes of 500 pieces for bulk orders. Product pages list the exact packaging details.
