Information
Platinum Kangaroo coin 2024/2025
Following the success of the gold and silver Kangaroo coins, The Perth Mint has been issuing a platinum Kangaroo coin since 2018. This platinum coin has the same design as the silver variant and is struck in 99.95% pure platinum.
These platinum Kangaroo coins are equipped with a special security emblem in the form of a small micro-lasered letter that is only visible under a magnifying glass. This micro-lasered letter is not easy to imitate and makes counterfeits easier to recognise.
The platinum Kangaroo 2024/2025 coin is delivered in an airtight capsule to protect the coin from possible damage. They are delivered in a sealed tube per 20 pieces.
Design platinum Kangaroo coin
On the obverse side of the coin is every year a similar design used of the popular 1990 golden kangaroo, also known as the gold Nugget. A large jumping kangaroo in the midst of sunbeams. On the rim are the words "AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO", the "P" of The Perth Mint, the year of issue and the platinum content “1 oz 9999 PLATINUM” shown.
The reverse of the platinum Kangaroo coin features an effigy of King Charles III. This effigy was designed by Dan Thorne. This side of the coin also clearly displays the issuing country "AUSTRALIA" and the face value "100 DOLLARS".
Annual issuance of platinum Kangaroo coins
The 1 troy ounce platinum coin has an unlimited issue during the year. Production is stopped at the end of each year and the final issue is determined. Therefore, it is never known in advance how many Kangaroo platinum coins of each year will circulate.

Investment score
Products with an A-rating are among the most commonly traded and liquid options available. These coins and bars offer a strong balance between a competitive price per gram and a low spread, making them well-suited for investors who want to acquire physical gold or silver efficiently. Due to their global recognition, they are typically easy to buy and sell.
Label informationProducts with an A-rating are among the most commonly traded and liquid options available. These coins and bars offer a strong balance between a competitive price per gram and a low spread, making them well-suited for investors who want to acquire physical gold or silver efficiently. Due to their global recognition, they are typically easy to buy and sell.
Products with a C-rating are primarily valued for their collectible characteristics. This may include limited editions, unique designs, or historical significance. As a result, their price is often less closely tied to the underlying metal value. These products are typically chosen by collectors rather than investors focused on efficiency.
