The gold Lunar coins are issued by the Perth Mint from Australia. The Lunar II series started in 2008, with the year of the rat. Because the Lunar II series ends 12 years later according to the Chinese Zodiac, 2019 is the last issue of this popular series.
2019 is the year of the pig. The pig represents tolerance and sympathy. On the obverse of these coins a pig is depicted, while hold its head up. On the background, a branch is depicted with some stones. The Chinese sign for the word 'pig' is depicted in the background as well. On the reverse the worldwide known portrait of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II is shown, with the face value of 25 Australian Dollars at the right bottom.
These coins are struck in 99.99% fine gold with a weight of 7.775 grams. The Lunar series is very popular among collectors due to the yearly changing design and the limited mintages.
