The silver coin is the third in the series Emu coins from the Perth Mint, Australia. Just like last year, there is now also a silver 1 troy ounce Emu coin minted in 99.99% pure silver with a strictly limited edition of only 30,000 pieces. These coins contain 31.103 grams of pure silver and are newly minted and available while supplies last.

The Emu series is a relatively new series of coins in which three variants are available: a 1 troy ounce gold Emu, a 1 troy ounce silver Emu and a proof variant of the silver Emu. All these coins are issued in a strictly limited edition, which makes the Emu coins rarer than, for example, the Kookaburra and Koala coins that also come from Australia.

The Australian emu is a large flightless bird that can trot long distances. Although emus have feathers, they cannot fly because their wings are too small. Emus come all over Australia for food mainly with grass flowers, seeds, and insects. The emu is the second-largest living bird after the ostrich.

Design Emu 2020

On the obverse of this silver coin, two emus are depicted in a desert landscape. On the top of the rim is Australian EMU and at the bottom the year, 2020, the weight 1 oz and the fineness 99.99% pure silver.

Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the reverse of the coin. Together with the country where the coin was made, Australia and the nominal value of the coin (1 Dollar)
