Design of the silver Maple Leaf super incuse 2024
The obverse of the coin displays an impressive deep gilded engraving of the iconic Maple Leaf, the national symbol of Canada. In the background, a new repeating pattern of small Maple Leaf leaves is added. In addition, the inscriptions of 'Canada', the purity grade '9999 Fine Silver', and the year '2024' are clearly visible. The coin's edge is also gilded.
The reverse features an elegant gilded portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt, with a refined incuse to give her profile extra depth. The denomination of 5 DOLLAR and the year of issue 2024 along with the inscriptions 'Elizabeth II' and 'D.G. Regina' complete the design. This side of the coin also utilises the new background design and the gilded edge.
