Silver coins other weights
Some mints choose to issue their silver coins in different weights. A different weight makes a silver coin extra unique and this can be a fraction of the 1 troy ounce (31.103 grams) weight, or a completely different weight.
Mints are increasingly experimenting with special editions where the silver coin no longer has the traditional (round) shape of a coin, but silver coins can also be made in the silhouette of, say, an animal or a shape of a painting, where the back of the artwork officially has the status of legal tender.
