This 2 troy ounce silver coin is the first coin in the new series "Grand Shipwrecks in a History" and is dedicated to the great shipwrecks in history and their treasures. This first edition is dedicated to Whydah Gally.
On his maiden voyage, the Whydah Gally was hijacked by Samuel Bellamy or "Black Sam". In 1717 the ship drowned completely in a storm near Cape Cod. It was found in 1984 and among the findings, a well-preserved bell helped identify the remains of the Whydah Gally.
This coin has a limited edition of 500 pieces worldwide.
On the face of the coin, you will see a beautiful print that features a luxurious Whydah Gally, surrounded by a ring of floral ornaments. The location of the shipwreck with treasures on the seabed is shown in 1.5 mm relief in the foreground.
On the reverse of the coin, you see Queen Elizabeth depicted with a ship's rudder. The outer ring shows the face value of $ 5, the year the coin was made (2019), and the number of ounces with 99.9% content.
