2 troy ounce silver coin Almond Blossom Vincent van Gogh 2022 

This silver coin is dedicated to one of Vincent van Gogh's most fascinating paintings: the almond blossom. Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch painter. His work falls under post-impressionism, an art movement that succeeded nineteenth-century impressionism. The original painting was a gift for his brother Theo and his wife Jo, who had a son: Vincent Willem. A letter Theo wrote to his brother says, "As we told you, we name him after you, and I express the wish that he may become as tenacious and courageous as you." Vincent Willem later founded the Van Gogh Museum. 
 
For this coin a new coining technique called ''Bi-Metal Max'' has been used to give this piece its remarkable weight while keeping the proportions true to the actual painting. This is made possible by providing 33.5 troy ounces of copper as a base and combining this with a top layer of 2 troy ounces of pure silver, resulting in a beautiful high relief. The coin has a diameter in mm of 110 x 145 and a face value of 10,000 francs cfa. 

The coin comes in a presentation box together with the certificate of authenticity. The worldwide mintage is limited to 500 pieces.
