This beautiful gold coin is struck in 99.99% pure gold and the design is based on the Chinese zodiac calendar just like every year. The year 2023 is therefore dedicated to the rabbit.
To protect the coin, it comes in a clear acrylic coin capsule. In addition, a security feature can be found on this 2 troy ounce gold coin. A letter has been engraved into the coin with microlaser and is only visible under a magnifying glass. This makes forging the coin considerably more difficult.

Design gold Lunar 2023
The obverse of each gold Lunar III 2023 coin features the same design. The centre of the 2 troy ounce coin - designed by Ing Ing Jong - features a detailed rabbit jumping in various types of grass. Around the rabbit are added references to the Chinese zodiac calendar, such as the text "RABBIT 2023" and the Chinese sign for rabbit. The "P" of The Perth Mint has also been added on this side of the coin.
The reverse side of the gold Lunar 2 troy ounce coin shows various inscriptions in addition to the image of Queen Elizabeth II - designed by Jody Clark. For instance, the coin's weight "2 oz", gold content "9999 Au" and face value "200 DOLLARS" are clearly visible. The text "ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA" can also be read on this side of the coin.

The Perth Mint's Lunar collectible coins are based on the Chinese zodiac calendar and the great Chinese race. This zodiac consists of 12 animals and every 12 years this calendar repeats. 2023 is in the sign of the rabbit.
