Design 10 troy ounce Germania Allegories coin

The obverse of the coin shows the personifications of Austria and Germany, depicted as young and beautiful women. The woman on the right symbolizes Austria and is the epitome of a multi-ethnic country. The woman on the left symbolizes Germany and holds a spear that symbolizes the axis of the world, power, dignity and honor. The head of the Austrian woman is decorated with a laurel wreath, a symbol with multiple positive meanings, while the German woman is crowned with an oak branch. The Austrian woman holds the imperial sword "Reichsschwert," which symbolizes friendship between the two cultures.

The reverse side of the coin shows a shield. The shield in the crown is divided into four parts, each of which has its own traditional meaning. The shield itself is a symbol of truth, loyalty and trust. The crown is a symbol of power, nobility and chivalry.

The two-headed eagle

The two-headed eagle is a symbol of the god of beginnings, guardian of doors, gates, passages and bridges, patron of contracts and alliances. Heads turned in opposite directions symbolize the past and the future.

The pattern of the trellis

The pattern of the trellis refers to wisdom and prudence. These are qualities of any noble ruler(s).

The gold ribbon with three flowers represents the values that define a strong and independent nation: unity, integrity and freedom.

The boar

The boar is a symbol of power and was an extremely popular and respected animal in the Roman Empire. The coat of arms is surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves. The wreath symbolizes loyalty, stability and national unity.
