The 10 troy ounce silver coin bar Silvernote 2022 from The Pressburg Mint, Slovakia combines bar, coin, silver and bill in one unique product. This beautiful coin bar, struck in 99,99% pure silver, is therefore very populair by collectors and investors.
The Pressburg Mint, located in Slovakia, combines classic coinage traditions with innovative new technologies. Most coins for sale have a round shape. However, sometimes mints produce coins in the form of a silver bar.
The 2022 10 troy ounce Silver Note Rectangular Coin is a perfect example of the philosophy of mints. Using both traditional coin and laser engraving processes, they have produced their very first product to combine bar, coin, silver and bill in one unique design. The coin is in the shape of a bar, is engraved with the image of a silver bill and has a face value supported by the government of Niue.
The obverse of the 2022 10 troy ounce Niue Silver Note Rectangular Silver Coin features the iconic effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. This commonly used design shows the Queen in profile wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. Behind Her Majesty, several artistic-looking shapes are engraved into the coin, including a triangle in the lower right corner. There is also a series of swirling lines that extend over the edges. Along the edges are the mint marks and the words In Argentum Veritas. The reverse of the coin is blank.
Silver bars are in principle taxed with 21% VAT. However, coin bars are seen as coins, because the silver bar has a picture of a coin with a nominal value. You therefore do not pay VAT on silver coin bars, as these fall under the margin scheme, just like silver coins. This means you only pay VAT on the dealer's profit margin, which is already included in the price.
If you want to buy a silver bar as a private individual, silver coin bars are a good option. For business investors, standard silver bars are also suitable as companies can usually reclaim the taxed 21% VAT.
