With the Lunar coins, each year the design is based on these annuals and hence the obverse of the coin features an image of a snake. The snake hangs from a branch and its tongue protrudes conspicuously. Surrounding the snake is the sign P, which stands for the mint The Perth Mint. Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the reverse of the coin. Around it are inscriptions with the coin's face value, silver content and the queen's name.
