Information

Maid Marian 2022 1 troy ounce silver coin

The Maid Marian coin is struck by the Royal Mint in 1 troy ounce of pure silver (99.9%) with a diameter of 38.61 mm. The coin is individually packed in a coin case.

The Maid Marian coin is the sequel to the Robin Hood coin that was previously minted by the Royal Mint. The coin is, therefore, also part of the Myths and Legends series. Robin Hood comes from an old story about a charming archer who helped the poor. Maid Marian is his companion. Although not much can be found about Maid Marian in the oldest versions of the stories, she has been present since the 16th century. This coin is dedicated to her. The face value of the Maid Marian coin is £2. The design contains many beautiful details that make the Maid Marian coin stand out. The Maid Marian coin has a gently yet impressive appearance. It looks stunning, just like we are used to with cion from the Royal Mint. It is a coin of excellent quality and a beautiful design.

Obverse

The obverse of the Maid Marian coin depicts Maid Marian herself. She is hidden in Sherwood Forest. She is depicted with a bow on her back and has a mysterious appearance. The different leaves that are around her serve as a stunning detail but also let Maid Marian come out beautifully. The Maid Marian coin will certainly attract attention and fits in perfectly with the Robin Hood coin.

Surrounding the portrait are the inscriptions ELIZABETH II - the queen's name, 2 POUNDS - the coin's nominal value, and D. G. REG F. The Royal Mint

The Royal Mint is the official mint of the United Kingdom and boasts a rich history spanning over 1,100 years. Throughout these centuries, the mint has served the United Kingdom during times of war, political upheaval, and social and economic progress. The Royal Mint is renowned for its innovation and is considered a true leader in the world of coinage.

Given the significant role the Royal Mint has played, there is a Royal Mint Museum located within the mint itself in Llantrisant, South Wales. The museum showcases the fascinating history of the Royal Mint and many of the coins it has produced, including experimental coins, artworks, and tools. The quality of the Royal Mint's coins is exceptional, thanks to the innovative production techniques and technologies employed in their minting process.

Investment score

This product has a B-label. This means that it is a common coin or bar that is easily tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice. Examples of coins with a B-label are coins with a lower mintage.
