Information

1 troy ounce silver coin Great Horned Owl

This 1 troy ounce silver coin featuring the Great Horned Owl is the fourth and final coin in the "Birds of Prey" series by The Royal Canadian Mint. This series showcases the four most common birds of prey in Canada. The coin is struck in 1 troy ounce (31.103 grams) of 99.99% pure silver.

The obverse side of the coin features the Great Horned Owl, also known as the American Eagle Owl, depicted in flight. This design highlights the intricate details of the owl's wings. Additionally, the silver purity of 99.99% and the country of origin, Canada, are clearly visible on this side of the coin. The reverse side displays a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the year of issue and the face value of 5 dollars. The designs of this silver coin were created by Susanna Blunt.

The Great Horned Owl coins are issued in a limited mintage of up to 1 million pieces. This coin has a face value of $5.00 CAD. Please note that these coins may have minor scratches or milk spots, which do not affect the coin's value.

Royal Canadian Mint

Investment score

A B-rating indicates products that are still widely recognized and tradable worldwide, often issued by reputable mints or refiners. However, the price per gram or spread is generally slightly higher compared to A-rated products. While still suitable for investment purposes, they are not the most cost-efficient option available.

Label information
A-label

Products with an A-rating are among the most commonly traded and liquid options available. These coins and bars offer a strong balance between a competitive price per gram and a low spread, making them well-suited for investors who want to acquire physical gold or silver efficiently. Due to their global recognition, they are typically easy to buy and sell.

B-label

C-label

Products with a C-rating are primarily valued for their collectible characteristics. This may include limited editions, unique designs, or historical significance. As a result, their price is often less closely tied to the underlying metal value. These products are typically chosen by collectors rather than investors focused on efficiency.
