The 1/4 oz Gold White Greyhound is part of The Royal Mint's renowned Queen's Beasts series. The White Greyhound of Richmond is the tenth and final individual Beast in the series. The coin contains 1/4 troy ounce (7.78 grams) of 99.99% pure gold and has a face value of £25.
The Queen's Beasts series was inspired by the ten heraldic statues that stood at Westminster Abbey during the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
The White Greyhound design
The reverse features the White Greyhound of Richmond, designed by Jody Clark. The greyhound holds a shield displaying the Tudor Rose. Through King Henry VII, the White Greyhound is associated with the House of Tudor and represents part of Queen Elizabeth II's royal ancestry.
