Design of the Lunar coin

As can be seen in the images, the obverse side of the Lunar troy ounce coin shows an ox with a young. The reverse of these coins shows Queen Elizabeth II and also shows the face value, the country of issue and the denomination and weight of the coin.

Silver Lunar coin series

The Chinese era is central in the Lunar series. According to this era, every year is dedicated to a specific animal, this follows the Chinese zodiac. The year 2021 is all about the Ox.

Every year the coin series consists of silver and gold variants in different weights, with the gold Lunar coin having a different design. After the success of the Perth Mint, some other mints have also introduced their own Lunar series. There is also a silver Lunar coin from the Royal Mint from Great Britain and the Royal Austrian Mint has also struck its own variant of the Lunar coins. However, all of these coins are nowhere near as popular as those of the Perth Mint.
