Information
Gold Maple Leaf coin 2026
The golden Maple Leaf of 1/10 troy ounce is one of the smallest fractional coins from the very popular Maple Leaf series from The Royal Canadian Mint. This small coin with a diameter of just 16 mm contains the same very high gold content as the larger gold Maple Leaf coins.
This gold coin is a very valuable addition to any investment portfolio due to the high purity of the gold and the reputation of The Royal Canadian Mint as one of the most respected mints in the world. As a result, this coin is easily tradable and is globally recognized as a valuable investment in gold. In addition, the 1/10 troy ounce gold coin is also very popular with investors with a relatively lower budget or the beginning investor.
The 2026 variant of the 1/10 troy ounce coin is the first version with a depiction of King Charles III. After many years in which Queen Elizabeth II adorned the reverse of the Maple Leaf coins, it is King Charles III who is shown this year.
Design of 1/10 troy ounce gold Maple Leaf coin
Obverse
The obverse of the Golden Maple Leaf of 1/10 troy ounce shows a maple leaf, the national symbol of Canada. Above the leaf is the text CANADA, on both sides 9999, the gold content of the coin and at the bottom is FINE GOLD and 1/10 OZ OR PUR.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin shows a depiction of King Charles III, designed by Steven Rosati. Above the portrait is the name of the King and below is the nominal value of the coin 5 DOLLARS and the year of issue added.
Security features of the gold Maple Leaf
The Royal Canadian Mint has added various security features to its 1/10 troy ounce gold Maple Leaf coins. These features make it harder to completely replicate the coins and in addition, counterfeits are also easier to recognize by the absence of the security features.
The features can be found both on the obverse and reverse of the coin:
- Advanced micro-engraved security markings, which are barely visible to the naked eye, are directly incorporated into the design of the coin.
Radial lines varying in width and depth not only add a layer of complexity and beauty to the design but are also incredibly difficult to replicate.

Investment score
A B-rating indicates products that are still widely recognized and tradable worldwide, often issued by reputable mints or refiners. However, the price per gram or spread is generally slightly higher compared to A-rated products. While still suitable for investment purposes, they are not the most cost-efficient option available.
Label informationProducts with an A-rating are among the most commonly traded and liquid options available. These coins and bars offer a strong balance between a competitive price per gram and a low spread, making them well-suited for investors who want to acquire physical gold or silver efficiently. Due to their global recognition, they are typically easy to buy and sell.
Products with a C-rating are primarily valued for their collectible characteristics. This may include limited editions, unique designs, or historical significance. As a result, their price is often less closely tied to the underlying metal value. These products are typically chosen by collectors rather than investors focused on efficiency.
