Information

Gold 20 Mark from Germany

This gold 20 mark coin has a diameter of 22.5 mm and weighs 7.965 grams. The gold content is 90%. These are the 20 Mark gold coins from Germany.

These coins were produced between 1871 and 1915, with a circulation of tens of millions. Today, they are sought after by collectors and investors because of their rarity and the value in gold represented by the coin.

The obverse of the coin shows the Prussian eagle, a symbol used by Prussian rulers since the Middle Ages. The eagle has two heads, representing Prussia and Brandenburg. In its talons it holds a sceptre and an imperial apple, symbols of power and authority. On the eagle's breast is a shield with the coat of arms of Prussia. Above the eagle is the crown of the German Empire. Around the edge of the coin is the text ‘AUS 20 MARK GOLD’, indicating that the coin is worth 20 marks and is made of gold.

The reverse of the coin shows a portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm II, who reigned from 1888 to 1918.The emperor wears a military uniform and looks determinedly to the right. Around the edge of the coin is the text ‘WILHELM II DEUTSCHER KAISER KOENIG V. PREUSSEN’, the emperor's name and title. The year of issue can be found below the portrait.

Compared to other gold coins, the 20 Mark coin is relatively affordable, making it an attractive option for beginning investors

Investment score

A B-rating indicates products that are still widely recognized and tradable worldwide, often issued by reputable mints or refiners. However, the price per gram or spread is generally slightly higher compared to A-rated products. While still suitable for investment purposes, they are not the most cost-efficient option available.

Label information
A-label

Products with an A-rating are among the most commonly traded and liquid options available. These coins and bars offer a strong balance between a competitive price per gram and a low spread, making them well-suited for investors who want to acquire physical gold or silver efficiently. Due to their global recognition, they are typically easy to buy and sell.

B-label

C-label

Products with a C-rating are primarily valued for their collectible characteristics. This may include limited editions, unique designs, or historical significance. As a result, their price is often less closely tied to the underlying metal value. These products are typically chosen by collectors rather than investors focused on efficiency.
