Information

Gold 5 Dollar American Half Eagle Liberty Head

The 5 Dollar Liberty Head coin is an essential part of the American Eagle series and was produced in the United States between 1839 and 1866. This coin, weighing 8.3590 grams and measuring 21.6 mm in diameter, contains 90% pure gold and holds the status of legal tender in the United States.

Designed by Christian Gobrecht in 1838, the Liberty Head coin remains a lasting symbol of American history and culture. The front of the coin features an elegant depiction of Lady Liberty, who is facing left and wears a crown inscribed with the word "LIBERTY." Above her head are 13 stars, representing the original 13 states of the United States.

The reverse of the coin displays a majestic eagle holding an olive branch in one claw and arrows in the other. Above the eagle is the inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST," reflecting the religious values of the era. Along the edge of the coin is the text "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and below the eagle, the coin’s value is indicated with "FIVE D." This coin is not only a sought-after collectible but also a valuable historical artifact that embodies the rich American heritage.

Investment score

A B-rating indicates products that are still widely recognized and tradable worldwide, often issued by reputable mints or refiners. However, the price per gram or spread is generally slightly higher compared to A-rated products. While still suitable for investment purposes, they are not the most cost-efficient option available.

Label information
A-label

Products with an A-rating are among the most commonly traded and liquid options available. These coins and bars offer a strong balance between a competitive price per gram and a low spread, making them well-suited for investors who want to acquire physical gold or silver efficiently. Due to their global recognition, they are typically easy to buy and sell.

B-label

C-label

Products with a C-rating are primarily valued for their collectible characteristics. This may include limited editions, unique designs, or historical significance. As a result, their price is often less closely tied to the underlying metal value. These products are typically chosen by collectors rather than investors focused on efficiency.
