Information

Gold Panda coin 8 gram

This beautiful 8 gram pure gold coin is part of the Gold Panda 2023 series issued by China Gold Coin Corporation (part of People's Bank of China). This Chinese mint part of People's Bank of China has been issuing coins on behalf of the Chinese government for more than 40 years. This popular gold coin is loved by investors and collectors alike.

The design of Chinese panda coins changes every year, but there is always one or more giant pandas on the obverse of the coin. Giant pandas are strongly associated with China, for instance, in Eastern cultures the panda symbolises peace and harmonious resolution of conflicts. In addition, this endangered species lives mainly in China.

Obverse

The obverse of this year's gold panda coins features two adorable giant pandas in a tree. The two pandas are displayed in a tree among leaves. The pandas appear to be climbing towards each other.  The face value, weight in grams and gold content of the coin are also shown on this side.

Reverse

The reverse side of the gold panda coins has shown the same design for years, namely a beautiful image of the Temple of Heaven. This famous Beijing temple is an important prayer hall for the Chinese. Around the effigy, the name of China in Chinese characters and the year of issue are also shown.

Investing in gold Panda coins

Investing in gold by buying gold coins or gold bars is seen by many as a way for protection against macro economic setbacks and monetary depreciation. Gold coins and/or bars often provide a safe haven in times of crisis. Gold has played an important role with regard to building and protecting wealth for many years. With greater uncertainty within the financial world, people are losing faith in the monetary system, resulting in increasing demand for gold.

The 8-gram gold Panda contains 99.9% pure gold and is therefore often seen as an investment product in addition to being a collector's item. Each gold Panda 2023 has a buy-back guarantee. This means that the coin can be sold to The Silver Mountain at a competitive bid price, regardless of the level of the then prevailing gold price and the quantity of gold Panda coins.

Investment score

A B-rating indicates products that are still widely recognized and tradable worldwide, often issued by reputable mints or refiners. However, the price per gram or spread is generally slightly higher compared to A-rated products. While still suitable for investment purposes, they are not the most cost-efficient option available.

Label information
A-label

Products with an A-rating are among the most commonly traded and liquid options available. These coins and bars offer a strong balance between a competitive price per gram and a low spread, making them well-suited for investors who want to acquire physical gold or silver efficiently. Due to their global recognition, they are typically easy to buy and sell.

B-label

C-label

Products with a C-rating are primarily valued for their collectible characteristics. This may include limited editions, unique designs, or historical significance. As a result, their price is often less closely tied to the underlying metal value. These products are typically chosen by collectors rather than investors focused on efficiency.
