Information
Canadian Cougar - First issue of the Wildlife Portraits Series
The Canadian Cougar marks the inaugural release of the prestigious Canadian Wildlife Portraits series by the Royal Canadian Mint. This exceptional collector’s coin is struck from 35 grams of 99.999% pure gold and finished in the highest collector’s quality: Proof. With a worldwide mintage limited to just 400 pieces, this is a highly exclusive gold issue.
Obverse
The obverse features an impressive close-up portrait of a cougar resting on a tree branch. The muscular build, alert expression, and fine fur details are rendered with remarkable precision. The design was created by artist Denis Mayer Junior, whose initials DMJ appear subtly within the artwork.
Reverse
The reverse displays the official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the year of issue 2019 and the face value of 350 DOLLARS.
The Cougar - A symbol of strength
The cougar is one of the largest wild cats in the Americas, inhabiting regions across North, Central, and South America. Known for its strength, agility, and adaptability, this solitary predator primarily hunts deer, small mammals, and fish. Although its natural habitat has declined over time, the species is currently not classified as endangered.

Investment score
Products with a C-rating are primarily valued for their collectible characteristics. This may include limited editions, unique designs, or historical significance. As a result, their price is often less closely tied to the underlying metal value. These products are typically chosen by collectors rather than investors focused on efficiency.
Label informationProducts with an A-rating are among the most commonly traded and liquid options available. These coins and bars offer a strong balance between a competitive price per gram and a low spread, making them well-suited for investors who want to acquire physical gold or silver efficiently. Due to their global recognition, they are typically easy to buy and sell.
