The Tudor Beasts series
The Tudor Beasts series is a new series from The Royal Mint. Following the success of The Queens Beasts, this series has also been well received by historians and fans of the British monarchy. The Tudor Beasts are based on the ten stone beasts that frame the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace. They symbolise Henry VIII's union with his third wife Jane Seymour. The ten beasts are seen as majestic guardians.

Design of the coin
The second coin in the Tudor Beasts series depicts the Yale of Beaufort, an impressive mythical creature consisting of the body of a goat, the tusks of a boar and the tail of a lion. The effigy on the coin - designed by David Lawrence - is full of exquisite detail. The structure in the background of the effigy is made with chainmail animation, this provides extra security against forgery. Surrounding the image of The Yale is the text "YALE OF BEAUFORT ∙ 10 oz ∙ FINE SILVER ∙ 999.9". At the bottom of the coin is the year of issue: 2023.

The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II can be found on the reverse of the coin. This effigy designed by Jody Clark is shown in front of a background with chainmail animation surrounded by the text "D ∙ G ∙ REG ∙ F ∙ D ∙ 10 POUNDS ∙ ELIZABETH II".
