On the obverse of this coin an ox is depicted with her calf. In the background, a landscape of their natural habitat is shown. This side of the coin also shows the text 'Year of the Ox'. On the reverse, the portrait of Queen Elizbaeth II is depicted, together with the weight and purity (10 oz 999 silver), the year of issue (2009) and the face value (10 dollars)
The first silver Lunar coins were struck in 1999 by the Perth Mint from Australia. The Lunar series is one of the best known silver coin series because of the unique design and the (higly) limited mintages. These silver coins are very intreseting for collectors and investors.
