On the obverse of the coin is the beautiful image of the Musicians. It was painted by one of the greatest master painters off all time: Caravaggio. lthough Caravaggio's paintings were rejected after his death because of his unusually harsh chiaroscuro and a dark background that filled the painting, he was eventually recognized as one of the founders of modern painting. Chiaroscuro is a technique used in painting, film and photography in which light-dark contrasts are depicted more strongly than they often are in reality.
