The silver World of Painting Bacchus coin is minted in memory of the Italian painter Caravaggio. The coin is partly gold plated and contains 1 troy ounce (31.103 grams) fine silver (99.9%). In addition, the coin has proof quality. This is the highest achievable quality for coins.
 
Bacchus is an oil painting on canvas made around 1596 by the Italian painter Caravaggio. The painting measures 95 x 80 cm and hangs in the Sala del Caravaggio of the Uffizi Museum in Florence. The painting illustrates the Roman and Greek god Bacchus, the god of wine. The painting shows Bacchus lying on a bed of grapes and holding a glass of wine in his left hand. The painting is notable for its striking use of light and shadow and its intense emotional impact. 
 
The coin has a face value of 1 dollar in the country of origin. The dimensions are 40 x 40 mm and the product comes in a presentation box together with the certificate of authenticity. The worldwide mintage is limited to 500 pieces.
