In late August 2015, Australia's Perth Mint introduced the 1 troy ounce silver Kangaroo. This coin is minted in 31.103 grams of pure silver (99.99%). The silver Kangaroo coin boasts legal tender status in Australia, with a face value of AUD $1.00. Like the other silver coins, this Kangaroo coin is traded under the margin scheme. This makes the coin available for sale at a favourable price.
Silver is a very vulnerable material, especially if it is pure silver. The coins may therefore contain small scratches etc. This does not affect the value of the silver coin.

The Perth Mint issues the silver Kangaroo coins in tubes of 25, with 10 being packed in a sample box. Here, the mint has thus opted for a smaller-sized sample box containing 250 coins, instead of the usual 500 coins. For other quantities, the coins will be packed in a plastic coin case.
