The coin has a diameter of 39 mm, has a face value of 2 Samoa tālā and comes in a capsule. The worldwide mintage is limited to only 15,000 pieces.
Design of the silver Sea dragon coin
Obverse
On the front you see a sea dragon with leaf-like appendages, floating between corals.
Reverse
The reverse shows the coat of arms of the Samoan Islands. You will also see inscriptions with the the country and year of issue, purity, weight and face value of the silver coin.
Prooflike coin
The coin depicts a sea dragon with great detail. The coin is minted in the prooflike quality, which is very similar to the proof quality standard, but there is a difference in the production of the coins. For the production of prooflike coins, the stamps are polished and the coin blanks are treated in a different way. Also, more coins are minted with the same pair stamps. Like proof coins, prooflike coins may only be removed from a capsule with cotton gloves to prevent damage.
