The argali (Mongolian for ram) is the largest wild sheep species living in the highlands of west-east Asia, the Himalayas, Tibet and the Altai Mountains. They are adapted to extreme cold, drought and very high altitudes up to 5800 m. Adult argalis will eat 16-19 kg of food per day, mostly grass. Males have two large, corkscrew-shaped horns, some reaching a total length of 190 cm and weighing up to 23 kg.

The reverse of the coin shows a front facing view and a side profile of an Argali. The side profile view on the reverse is struck in Ultra-High Relief with an incredible amount of detail given to the fur and the horn. The Smartminting relief extends all the way to the edge of the coin.
