Information

Silver Koala 1 Troy ounce coin 2020

These coins are minted in 1 Troy ounce (31,103 grams) of pure silver (99.99%). The silver Koala coins are very popular among investors and collectors because these coins are minted in a limited edition (300,000 pieces). In addition, these coins have an annually changing design.

Design 1 troy ounce silver Koala coin 2020

In 2007, the Australian Perth Mint began issuing the Koala coin series. Koalas are native to Australia and are found in the (south)eastern regions of the country, primarily in eucalyptus forests. Their diet consists solely of eucalyptus leaves. Due to this low-energy diet, Koalas spend most of their day sleeping. Unfortunately, Koalas are an endangered species due to habitat loss caused by drought and urbanization.

This release from the series features a Koala clinging to a eucalyptus branch and appearing to climb upward. The design was created by Ing Ing Jong. The obverse side also displays the year, weight, and silver content. On the reverse side of the coin is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Above her is the text "ELIZABETH II - AUSTRALIA". At the bottom of the coin is the nominal value of 1 dollar. The coin is considered legal tender in Australia.

Investment score

This product has a B-label (Common bullion coins and bars). This means that it is a common coin or bar that is easily tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice. Examples of coins with a B-label are coins with a lower mintage.

Label information
Investment-score: A-label

Investment score: An A-label means that this is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we advise looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label signifies that this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.

Investment-score: B-label

Investment score: A B-label means that this is a common coin or bar, which is widely tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice.

Investment-score: C-label

Investment score: A C-label means that this is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. Products with a C-label are considered collectibles.
