The Chinese New Year is coming. This will be celebrated on the 25th of January all over the world. To celebrate this the Perth Mint made a number of special coins. One of these coins is this silver 1 Troy ounce coin. This collared coin symbolizes the Chinese lion dance. A dance done to get luck for the new year.
At the obverse of the coin you see Queen Elizabeth 2nd, with the face value of the coin. The reverse of the coin features a Chinese lion with ancient Chinese coins, flowers and lanterns. With the text: ‘恭喜发财’, Gōngxǐ fācái pronounced. This is a common phrase said to wish someone a happy and prosperous New Year.
The coin is a wonderful gift for the New Year or to have in your own collection. The coin has a limited mintage of 5,000 pieces. Included is the original packaging from the --- Mint with a certificate of authenticity.
