Obverse
On the obverse of the coin you see the peregrine falcon, designed by artist Emily Damstra. The design depicts the falcon during an attack with graceful spread of the wings and outstretched talons. In addition, you will see the inscriptions CANADA – the country of origin, 9999 – the purity of the coin, ED – the initials of Emily Damstra, and FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR – the precious metal type and weight.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 troy ounce silver Birds of Prey Peregrine Falcon coin features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by artist Susanna Blunt. Above the effigy of Her Majesty is the inscription ELIZABETH II – the Queens name. At the bottom you will see the inscriptions 5 DOLLARS – the face value ($5 CAN) and 2014 – the year of issue.
