The Tudor Beasts series is a sequel to the popular Queen's Beasts series. Both series focus on heraldic beasts used by the monarchy, but the Tudor Beasts series focuses directly on a single dynasty. The Tudor Beasts is based on the ten stone beasts that frame the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace. They symbolize Henry VIII's union with his third wife Jane Seymour.
