This is the first time the Royal Arms series has released a platinum version, in addition to the silver and gold Troy ounce Royal Arms coins. This platinum version is minted in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition. The mint was minted as a normal production by the Royal Mint. These coins are then collected separately to ensure that the coins are scratched.

On the front of this platinum coin is a shield with four different images. These images symbolize England, Scotland, and Ireland. Next to this shield is the English lion and the Scottish unicorn. These mythical creatures also appear in the Queens Beasts series that is also published by the Royal Mint. The Royal Arms stands for the strength and greatness of the British Empire.

A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the reverse of the coin. Along with the face value of 100 pounds.
