The year 2024 belongs to the dragon, one of the 12 animals in the Chinese lunar calendar. In Chinese mythology, it is a majestic beast that inhabits rivers, lakes, oceans and roams the skies. Within Chinese mythology, the Dragon belongs to the years 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024.
 
The Lunar series is popular among investors as well as collectors. The design is composed with care and precision by world-renowned designers. The coin is struck in pure gold, weighs 1 troy ounce, has a diameter of 32.6 millimeters and the highest achievable quality possible for coins: proof. Obverse

The obverse shows a Chinese dragon. On the obverse are various inscriptions such as DRAGON - the name of the coin, 2024 - the year of issue, P125 - a special mint mark celebrating the 125th anniversary of The Perth Mint and IJ - the initials of the coin designer Ing Ing Jong.

Reverse

The reverse shows the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Around it are the inscriptions AUSTRALIA - the country of issue, 100 DOLLARS - the face value of the coin, 1oz 9999 Au - the weight and purity of the coin, ELIZABETH II 1952 - 2022 - the Queen's name along with the years of her reign and JC - the initials of the coin designer Jody Clark.
