The series is based on an early design by renowned Australian coin designer Stuart Devlin.
The Beneath the Southern Sky design
The reverse features a map of Australia alongside the Southern Cross, one of the most recognisable constellations in the southern sky. A platypus marks the location of Sydney on the map, a detail that distinguishes the 2021 edition from the first release in 2020.
The obverse features the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II together with the coin's face value.
