The Koala 2019 design
The reverse depicts a koala sitting among the branches of a eucalyptus tree. The design includes the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KOALA’, the year 2019 and The Perth Mint's traditional ‘P’ mintmark. The design was created by Ing Ing Jong.
The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Thanks to the large surface of the 1 kilo coin, the details of the Koala design are particularly prominent.
