Design Kangaroo coin
This year, the design of the golden Kangaroo consists a jumping kangaroo in the centre of the coin. Underneath is the text 'RED KANGAROO' and the 'P' of the mint house. The edge of the coin shows the purity, year of issue, weight and title of the coin. The reverse side of the coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II with the value of the coin, which is 15 Australian dollars.

There are 50 different species of kangaroos that mainly live in Australia. The animals can only move forward, there is no leap backwards. Forward, kangaroos can reach a high speed up to 70 kilometres per hour. Kangaroos are also mammals, baby kangaroos are called Joey and can only weigh 1 gram at birth. This is because the kangaroo has a gestation period of one month and a baby kangaroo looks like a small worm of 2 centimetres at birth. The further development happens in his mother's pouch.
