In 2008 the Vienna Mint, Austria, launched the Silver Philharmonic coins.
Due to huge demand for a silver coin similar to the famous and successful Gold Philharmonic coins, the Vienna Mint released Silver philharmonic coins.

Each coin is struck in fine silver (.999) The weight of the coins is 1 troy ounce (31,103 grams) and the design of the coin is nearly identical to the gold Philharmonic coin series. The obverse features the "Great Pipe Organ" and on the reverse of the coin a collection of instruments is featured, including the word Silber.

The face value of the Silver Philharmonic coins is EUR 1,50.
