The 1/2 troy ounce silver Noah's Ark 2023 coin is struck in 99.9% pure silver and is issued on behalf of the Armenian government.
The 1/2 troy ounce silver coin Noah's Ark 2023 is an investment coin from Armenia and has a limited circulation of 2 million coins per year.
Armenia introduced its own collection of silver coins, the Noah's Ark, in 2011. The coins are produced by German smelter Geiger Edelmetalle GmbH on behalf of Armenia. They are silver investment coins with a purity of 99.9%. The collection consists of seven different sizes, each with a limited edition.
The obverse of the coin depicts Noah's Ark surrounded by waves and the Ararat mountains in the background. In the foreground, a dove with an olive branch adorns the image for reconciliation and peace.
The reverse of the coin shows a coat of arms, the year the coin was minted, the face value of the coin, the weight, the purity of the coin and at the bottom it says 'Republic of Armenia'.
The coin's design comes from Armenian artist Eduard Kurghinyan and refers to the story from Genesis 8:4 of the Bible (Noah's ark). Noah's ark is a whopping 70 metres long, 13 metres high, 10 metres wide and has four floors. The ark had room for eight people, in addition, 7 pairs of all clean animals and one pair of all unclean animals came along in the boat.
