Gold bar from Umicore or from C.Hafner?

At The Silver Mountain, we offer gold bars from approved producers. All of these producers have Good Delivery Status. This means that the smelters meet the criteria of the LBMA. As a result, gold bars from these producers can be traded worldwide easily and without analysis.

What is the LBMA?

LMBA stands for London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), this organization was founded in the 17th century. By introducing the London Silver Fixing in 1897 and the London Gold Fixing in 1919, the LBMA has grown into a supervisor in the precious metals market.

The LBMA has a client base of central banks, mining companies, producers and smelters, which puts the LBMA in a position to set quality requirements. The so-called Good Delivery List of the LBMA guarantees that gold and silver have been processed according to strict quality requirements.

Umicore

Umicore is a Belgian company and in the Netherlands, Umicore is one of the most common producers of gold bars. We supply Umicore bars since 2009 and our offer consists of newly cast gold bars including certificate of authenticity. Umicore bars have a Good Delievery status from the LBMA.

C. Hafner

In addition to Umicore bars, we also offer bars from C. Hafner. Often these gold bars are slightly cheaper, while the weight and content are identical. In addition, C. Hafner is also a recognized producer who, like Umicore, has Good Delivery status.

Which producer to choose for gold bars?

When choosing between different smelters, we recommend looking at pricing and availability (delivery time). Since the gold value is identical, there are no other important issues to consider. Depending on market conditions, one smelter may be more favorable than another. At the Silver Mountain, gold bars from different producers are usually readily available at competetive prices.
