Design of the Libertad coin

The obverse of the Libertad coin shows the National Shield of Mexico. A golden eagle is also depicted while devouring a rattlesnake. The text “Estados Unidos Mexicanos” can be read around the image and in English, this means “United Mexican States”. The rim of the Libertad coin has beautiful detail, and this also continues on the reverse. On the reverse of the Libertad coin is the winged Victoria of Angel of Independence depicted. With the proof versions, the angel is matt, and the background beautifully polished.
